Project Statistics Portlet in Primavera P6

Step 1. Select the “Customize” link on the dashboard to select the desired portlets.

Step 2. Select the “Project Statistics” portlet on the Content page.

Step 3. Click on the “Layout” page to position the portlet on the desired spot on your dashboard.

Step 4. Click on the “Access” page to identify the users that may access this Dashboard.

Step 5. Click the “Customize” link within the Projects Statistics portlet to select the project data elements that you want to display.

Step 6. The Project Statistics portlet displays your selected data.

Step 6a. The top row of data represents the sum of the projects included in that project group or portfolio enabling you to see a quick picture of the overall health of the portfolio.

Step 6b. In the example below, the selected portfolio is “Construction Projects” & beneath the top row you can view the information pertaining to each of the member projects.

Step 7. Click on a project to drill down & view information at the WBS level.

Step 7a. For example, in the image above, the Juniper Nursing Home project is projecting a negative Variance for Total Cost so drilling down to the WBS would provide information on which portion of the project was in trouble.

Step 7b. The image below illustrates the level 2 WBS elements & you can see that Building 1 is contributing to the project’s negative variance.

Step 7c. Click on the Building 1 WBS element to see details at the next level of the WBS.

Step 7d. In the screenshot below, you can see that the Structure portion of Building 1 is the source of the problem.

Step 8. Click on the Building 1 WBS element to see details at the next level of the WBS.
